As per Section 31(1) of FSS Act, 2006 every Food Business Operator is required to have FSSAI/FoSCoS registration in order to carry food business in India such license is granted by the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India. The FSSAI launched the Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) w.e.f 1^st June, 2020 thereby replacing the old food licensing and registration system.
